On November 6, 2024, a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rahimberdi Jepbarov paid a working visit to Washington to discuss issues of further strengthening economic and environmental cooperation with the United States.
During the visit, the delegation held talks with President and Chairman of the Board of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Reta Joe Lewis and Deputy Special Envoy for Climate of the U.S. Department of State Richard Duke.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting, including the expansion of bilateral cooperation, initiatives in the field of combating climate change, reducing methane emissions, as well as the implementation of acceptable economic, energy and infrastructure projects.
The parties noted the importance of joint efforts to promote sustainable development and explored ways to attract financial and technological resources to achieve these goals.
