During his visit to Japan, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the title of Honorary Doctor of the University of Tsukuba, one of the leading higher educational institutions in the country.
The diploma award ceremony took place during a meeting between the head of the Turkmen state and the president of the university, Kyosuke Nagata, at the Imperial Tokyo Hotel in Tokyo.
During the talks, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the priority importance of educational cooperation in the development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Japan. The head of state noted the existence of current agreements between the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, the Oguz han University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan and the University of Tsukuba.
