On July 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, during which a number of state matters were discussed.
The meeting also addressed preparations for international events within Turkmenistan’s chairmanship of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) in 2025. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on plans to hold an Economic Forum, the 20th session of the Governing Council, and working group meetings in Ashgabat in November–December, as well as on preparations for “SPECA Days.” These events are expected to be attended by high-level representatives of SPECA member states, UNECE leadership and specialized structures, as well as international experts.
Chairperson of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, reported on the drafting of legislative initiatives aimed at further legal development of the country, and on upcoming events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
Reports were also presented on the work in the gas sector, the progress of agricultural campaigns, measures to improve energy supply quality, and preparations for the new academic year. The President announced the start of annual leave for government officials beginning August 1, excluding those in the agricultural sector and the heads (Hyakims) of the velayats.
