These days, active work continues on the preparation of the XXVI International Conference «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan», which will be held on October 27-28 in Ashgabat.

The organizers of the forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan are the State Concerns «Turkmengas», «Turkmennebit» and the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» in partnership with the Economic Society «Turkmen Forum» with the support of the British company GaffneyCline.

This prestigious business forum is held annually in our country with the aim of developing and strengthening the partnership of Turkmenistan with international oil and gas companies.  The conference will discuss such topical topics as the latest global and regional trends in the development of the fuel and energy complex, the implementation of regional projects, including the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, attracting investments in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and the prospects for new gas chemical projects.

The conference will include presentations and panel sessions with the participation of senior management of national oil companies, as well as heads of leading international oil companies, large international organizations and financial institutions.

One of the gold sponsors of the upcoming forum will be a long-time partner of Turkmenistan – the Dubai company Dragon Oil, a subsidiary of the Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC).

In 1993, Dragon Oil entered into a Production Sharing Agreement with the government of Turkmenistan for exploration and development of fields in the Cheleken contract area in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

The main activity of the company is focused on the development of the Jeytun and Jigalybeg oil fields located in the contract area.  Dragon Oil has been successfully operating here since 2000.  During this time, the operator has built operational and nodal offshore fixed platforms, drilled dozens of new wells, carried out a major overhaul of existing wells, reconstructed and re-equipped all links of the system.

In 2014, the company completed construction of a production offshore stationary platform at the Jigalybeg field and started drilling new wells.

To date, the company's staff numbers more than 2 thousand employees, most of whom are citizens of Turkmenistan.

The company's total investment in the project is over $7.5 billion USD.

By 2025, Dragon Oil plans to expand production and increase oil production under the Turkmen project to 100 thousand barrels per day.
