On October 3, a meeting of the Presidium of the supreme representative body of the people's power of Turkmenistan was held under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty. It was attended by members of the Presidium, the Chairman of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of political parties and public associations, a number of departments and the media.

The agenda includes consideration of tasks arising from the decisions of the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, which was successfully held on the eve of the 33rd anniversary of the country's independence.

Opening the meeting and addressing the members of the Presidium, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, stressed that recently we celebrated the 33rd anniversary of the sacred independence of our sovereign country at a high level. Our people celebrated this holiday with great victories.

As you know, on September 24, a regular meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held, at which the results of the successes achieved, the work done and the milestones achieved in the country were summed up, as well as the key tasks that we face in a new historical era in accordance with the requirements of the time and new economic conditions were discussed.

At the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a number of decisions aimed at further comprehensive development of the independent neutral Homeland and signed relevant decrees, the Hero-Arkadag stressed.

Therefore, based on the provisions of articles 15 and 16 of the Constitutional Law of Turkmenistan "On the Khalk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan", we have convened a meeting of the Presidium of the supreme representative body of people's power. The tasks set at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty will be discussed at it, the National Leader of the Turkmen people said.

Noting that members of the Presidium, the Chairman of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of political parties and public associations, a number of departments and the media gathered here today, Hero-Arkadag, turning to the first issue on the agenda of the current meeting, namely, the discussion of measures being implemented and upcoming tasks following the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, emphasized The decree signed by the head of state at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty in the context of proclaiming 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, the floor was given to the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov.

As R. Meredov noted, at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held on September 24 this year, strategic issues related to various areas of the country's development were discussed. In the historic speech of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, it is emphasized that the possibilities of further development of Turkmenistan and long-term goals have been analyzed. In particular, the foreign policy of the country was discussed, and it was also said that in 2025, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality will be widely celebrated at the international level.

Special emphasis was placed on the fact that the Arkadag Hero noted the importance of the declaration by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of our country of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs quoted the words of the National Leader of the Turkmen people: "Neutrality is our doctrine, calling for the maintenance of peace throughout the world, friendly and fraternal relations between peoples, unity, proclaiming the ideals of humanism."

In the speech of the President of Turkmenistan, much attention was paid to the foreign policy strategy of our state. In this regard, it was stressed that Turkmenistan is actively implementing equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with various countries of the world, prestigious international organizations, in particular, with the United Nations.

As noted, based on the issues discussed at the historic meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, the President of Turkmenistan signed a decree "On holding events to commemorate the year 2025 – the International Year of Peace and Trust."

According to this document, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, political parties and public organizations are instructed to hold celebrations and events at a high organizational level to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust and to create a State Organizing Committee.

In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed to prepare a plan of events and celebrations to be held on this occasion.

The program will reflect the policy of neutrality, strengthening peace, security and trust, developing a culture of dialogue, climate change and environmental issues.

In particular, it was proposed to hold in December 2025 in Ashgabat an International forum dedicated to the results achieved in 2025 – the International Year of Peace and Trust, issues related to the future of world politics, as well as an International parliamentary Dialogue of Peace and Trust, a meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality in the Name of Peace, Security and Sustainable Development on the occasion of the International years of peace and trust. In addition, to organize an international conference on the role of women in strengthening peace and trust, an international youth meeting on peace and trust, an international conference on peace, trust and neutrality in the first half of 2025 in New York City at the UN headquarters, in the second half of next year as part of the Geneva Peace Week, to be held in Geneva (Switzerland), to hold international events on the occasion of the International Year of Peace and Trust, during 2025 at the UN International Center located in Vienna, a friendship ceremony.

Noting that the Hero-Arkadag makes great efforts in the practical implementation of the principles of peace and trust, R. Meredov stressed that in the beautiful poem presented to our people by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the ideas of peace and trust are clearly expressed, as well as the role of our country in strengthening peace and security is revealed.

At the end of his speech, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs assured that at today's meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty, on the basis of the instructions of the Hero-Arkadag, in order to implement the relevant Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the necessary work will be carried out.

After listening to the speech, the National Leader of the Turkmen people stressed that at the 63rd plenary session of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, 2025 was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust, which testifies to the recognition throughout the world of our country's tireless efforts to strengthen universal peace and strengthen trust between States.

As noted, guided by the legal status of positive neutrality, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with all States and reputable international organizations.

The development of equal and mutually beneficial relations with the countries of the world is one of the main directions of our state's foreign policy, the National Leader of the Turkmen people said, stressing that in this regard, preparations for the organized celebrations and events to mark the International Year of Peace and Trust should be at the highest level.

In addition, it was noted that the most important historical and significant date – the celebration of the glorious 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality - should be celebrated with great success in the coming year, 2025.

Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov moved on to discuss the upcoming tasks and work carried out in the fields of science, education, health and sports, as well as measures to improve the education of young people, giving the floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B.Orazdurdiyeva, who informed about the "Strategy for the development of science in Turkmenistan for 2024-2052", approved at the the meeting of the Hulk Maslahaty.

As noted, at the meetings of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, created on the initiative of the Hero-Arkadag, complex issues related to the development of our country are discussed and important decisions are made. The doctrines and tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan and the Hero Arkadag at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty, held on the eve of Independence Day, as well as the decisions taken and signed documents gave a new impetus to the development of the state.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the activities initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people aimed at improving the structure and strengthening the legislative framework and the material and technical base of science, education, health, sports, and improving the level of education of our society are currently successfully and consistently continuing with the use of domestic and international experience, advanced achievements of science and technicians, in the framework of cooperation with foreign countries and major international organizations.

Thanks to the far-sighted initiatives of the Hero Arkadag, science and education have become a solid foundation for the comprehensive development of our state, strengthening its position in the economic, scientific and cultural world space, and today great efforts are being made to modernize these systems. Guided by the concepts, strategies and programs developed on the initiative of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag, educational activities are being improved in accordance with recognized international standards, a highly educated, patriotic generation is being formed, high-level specialists are being trained, scientific research is being conducted in important and promising areas, advanced inventions and scientific and technical achievements are being introduced into the national economy.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed strong confidence that each of the participants of the meeting would work tirelessly for the successful implementation of the tasks set before them and make a worthy contribution to the development of the sovereign Fatherland.

In conclusion, the Hero-Arkadag noted that during the meeting of the Presidium of the Halk Maslahaty a number of issues on the agenda had been considered and discussed, and wished the participants great success in their work.
