Expressing sincere gratitude for the opportunity for a personal meeting, the guest conveyed heartfelt greetings and best wishes from the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and the country's Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, to the National Leader of the Turkmen people. An exemplary case in point is the new "smart" city of Arkadag, the initiative for which belongs to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This splendid city integrates advanced innovative technologies into its life support system, providing all conditions for comfortable living.
Thanking for the kind words and conveying warm greetings in response to the senior leadership of Pakistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction the productivity of the interstate dialogue, based on the historical and cultural commonality of our peoples and successfully developing in various directions. Speaking about this, the Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that the scheduled meetings and negotiations with Turkmen colleagues during the current visit of the guest would contribute to enhancing productive bilateral relations, enriching them with new content.
As emphasized by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is an important partner of Turkmenistan in the South Asian region. Turkmen-Pakistani relations are characterized by a high level of mutual understanding and trust. This, in turn, serves as a solid foundation for effective cooperation, including on a multilateral basis within the framework of authoritative international organizations, where our countries provide mutual support for each other's constructive initiatives.
During the meeting, the Hero-Arkadag and his guest exchanged views on current issues of bilateral partnership, one of the key directions of which is the trade and economic sphere. Special attention was given to the implementation of large-scale joint energy and communication projects in the region, particularly the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline. Alongside this, projects for laying power transmission lines and optical fiber communication along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) route are of great importance.
In this context, it was expressed confidence that the successful implementation of these major infrastructure projects would serve as a stimulus for progressive socio-economic growth in the region and contribute to its peaceful and sustainable development. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan is ready to facilitate the advancement of specific proposals aimed at enhancing mutually beneficial interstate partnership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Federal Minister of Industry and Production of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Rana Tanvir Hussain, affirmed the determination of both countries to further strengthen and develop traditional cooperation in line with the interests of common prosperity.
