On September 8, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Special Representative of Finland to the OSCE Teri Hakala.
During the talks, the parties discussed the long-term fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE in the political, economic, environmental and humanitarian dimensions. The importance of the projects and programs implemented in these areas was noted.
The interlocutors noted that in recent years, Turkmenistan's ties with such OSCE institutions as the Parliamentary Assembly, the Office of the High Commissioner on National Minorities, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, and the Representative on Freedom of the Media have noticeably intensified.
The parties emphasized the relevance of coordinating common efforts to ensure security, energy development, and transport connectivity. Along with this, the need to continue exchanging experience in the field of human rights protection, interaction to strengthen democratic institutions and the rule of law was noted.
