An international conference dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh poet, thinker, and reformer Abai Qunanbaiuly was held at the International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) in Tashkent.
The event brought together representatives of government bodies, diplomats, scholars, and cultural figures from Central Asian countries and other states, including Turkmenistan. The main theme of the conference was the role of Abai's spiritual legacy in strengthening the cultural integration of the region's peoples.
Participants discussed the poet's ideas on enlightenment and moral values, which remain relevant today. Qunanbaiuly's legacy was described as an important bridge between the past and future of Central Asian nations, contributing to the development of interstate dialogue and cultural cooperation.
