Turkmenistan strengthens its multilateral cooperation with the United Arab Emirates

On June 25, a business forum titled "Turkmenistan-United Arab Emirates" was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, bringing together leaders and top specialists from governmental and business entities of the two friendly nations.

The event featured participation from companies specializing in energy, digital technologies, trade, agriculture, food industry, construction, and tourism, including "HK Associates," "AMEA Power," "Arabian Falcon Holding," "ADIO," and others.

As noted during the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on June 21, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development of Turkmenistan's trade and economic interactions with foreign countries. Exhibitions and business forums in this direction contribute to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.

In this context, the current event aims to further develop trade, economic, investment, and business ties between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates within the framework of Turkmenistan's successful "open door" policy, as emphasized by the President.

The forum agenda included discussions on prospective areas of interstate cooperation in economic, investment, and industrial sectors, as well as renewable energy sources.

It is noteworthy that enhancing multifaceted relations with the United Arab Emirates, recognized as one of the economically robust and rapidly developing states in the Middle East, remains a priority in Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy.

The accumulated positive experience in bilateral and multilateral cooperation over recent years, particularly within the largest and most authoritative international organizations, serves as clear evidence of this commitment. Joint committees for cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, along with the Business Council for Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE, contribute to expanding business ties.

Speakers underscored that Turkmenistan, implementing an economic diversification strategy through active engagement of global best practices and advanced technologies, remains open to constructive dialogue. The country's favorable investment climate and efficient legal framework for business operations attract an increasing number of potential foreign partners, particularly from UAE business circles, to work in the promising Turkmen market.

Highlighted among the main partnership directions are joint projects that can drive economic cooperation and create new opportunities for investment attraction, establishment of joint ventures, and modern infrastructure development, as well as enhancing cooperation in banking and finance.

During their speeches, leaders of leading UAE companies confirmed the Emirati business community's readiness to strengthen and expand its presence in the Turkmen market.

The business meeting, conducted in an open and trustful atmosphere, analyzed ways to elevate relations to a new level in various economic and investment areas, high technologies, opportunities for increasing trade turnover, and outlined specific plans for joint work.

One of the most promising areas of cooperation named was the transport and logistics system. In recent years, Turkmenistan has developed modern infrastructure, including the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi, new highways, and airports, which offer extensive opportunities for developing contacts in this field. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan is actively developing large-scale transport projects and has significant prospects for relations with foreign partners, including well-known UAE companies.

The country's readiness for substantial expansion of mutually beneficial relations in the fuel and energy sector was also noted. Endowed with considerable potential in this sphere, Turkmenistan is one of the exporters of natural gas. The gas chemical industry is also developing, with its products widely supplied to the global market.

Another topic of discussion was the rational use of renewable energy sources. Being a country with vast oil and gas resources, Turkmenistan aims to develop "green" energy. In this context, cooperation in the practical use of environmentally friendly renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind, is considered relevant.

Among other relevant partnership vectors are agriculture, telecommunications, processing and chemical industries, introduction of advanced technologies, construction, healthcare, ecology, and others. There was noted high interest from UAE business circles in participating in specialized projects implemented in Turkmenistan, aimed at innovative development of the national economy and improving the well-being of the Turkmen people.

As a strong business union, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan operates in many key sectors of the national economy. Currently, significant hopes are placed on the Union's efforts to enhance ties with the UAE business community. In this regard, the readiness of Turkmen entrepreneurs for long-term partnership, expanding dialogue with their colleagues, utilizing their successful experience, and implementing modern business management methods were emphasized.

An essential part of this work is the regular organization of joint exhibitions of goods and services producers, as well as business forums.

In conclusion, there was expressed confidence that the current business forum will impart new dynamics and substance to the trade and economic partnership between business circles of Turkmenistan and the UAE.
