A regional training seminar on "Security and Risk Management in Seaports" was held at the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi.
The event was organized by the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan jointly with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The seminar became part of the international project "Control over Container Cargo Transportation", which the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is implementing jointly with the World Customs Organization and UNODC.
Representatives of the customs services of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Montenegro, Kazakhstan and Pakistan took part in the seminar. Representatives of the UNODC and other international organizations also attended the event.
The participants discussed the development of international cooperation in the field of container transportation and strengthening the legal framework in this area.
It should be noted that the guests highly appreciated the conditions created in Turkmenistan for effective customs control. They especially noted the potential of the port of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi in the development of international trade.
