On July 28, the Year of Peace and Trust, a reporting meeting was held at the central building of Turkmenistan’s oil and gas complex to review the outcomes of the sector’s work over the past seven months. The meeting addressed the tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the oil and gas sector—one of the key branches of the national economy.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov opened the meeting, emphasizing that thanks to the opportunities created by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the modernization and sustainable development of the oil and gas industry, the sector’s material and technical base is being consistently improved and important goals have been outlined.
Reports were delivered by State Minister and Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" Maksat Babayev, Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmennebit" Guvanch Agajanov, Chairman of the State Corporation "Turkmengeologia" Gurbangeldi Garlyyev, as well as by heads of associations, departments, and enterprises within the sector.
Speeches focused on key areas such as extraction and processing of oil and natural gas, which are in high demand on world markets; exploration of promising new deposits and strata; intensification of work at the Galkynysh gas field; acceleration of construction projects; strengthening of the raw material base; conducting geological exploration using advanced technologies; and organizing operations efficiently based on weather conditions.
Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov noted the importance of maintaining close control over the implementation of major projects in the sector; timely fulfillment of production and investment programs; continued rapid construction of the Serhetabat–Herat gas pipeline, also known as "Arkadag’s White Path; high-quality organization of the summer vacation season in the sector’s health and recreation centers; and strict monitoring of work along the Mary–Turkmenabat section of the Ashgabat–Turkmenabat high-speed highway. He also outlined key tasks for the State Concerns “Turkmengaz” and “Turkmennebit” , as well as the State Corporation “Turkmengeologia” .
The meeting was also attended by the President's Advisor on Oil and Gas Issues, Ashirguly Begliyev.
