The President of Turkmenistan met with the Federal Chancellor of Germany

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who was on a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the sidelines of the second high–level meeting in the Central Asia-Germany format in Astana.

Warmly greeting each other, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss in a personal conversation the most important issues of established constructive interstate cooperation, successfully developed on the basis of trust and mutual respect.

Having conveyed to the head of the Government of the friendly country the words of greeting from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag, who stood at the origins of the mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and Germany, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that today's first bilateral meeting with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz during the dialogue "Central Asia–Germany" will further strengthen interstate relations relationships.

German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz conveyed greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who made a huge personal contribution to strengthening cooperation, and also noted his country's great interest in deepening productive partnership with Turkmenistan, which has gained high prestige and recognition in the international arena thanks to its wise and far-sighted policy, progressive initiatives in the name of universal peace, security and sustainable development.

Stressing the importance and special attention paid to strengthening comprehensive ties with Germany, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that relations between the two countries are developing on a systematic and long-term basis, based on a solid legal framework, which includes many different treaties and agreements.

The Head of State noted the productive nature of bilateral cooperation, which is directly served by systematically conducted mutual visits at the government and departmental levels.

Noting the regularity of the cross-economic Days, business forums and economic exhibitions, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the role of the Joint Turkmen-German Working Group and the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, whose activities contribute to the development of interstate cooperation.

Thus, at the Turkmen-German Business Forum held in Berlin in November 2023, 20 bilateral documents were signed, including the Roadmap for the Development of economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany for 2024-2025.

Expressing gratitude to the head of Turkmenistan for the proactive approach to building bilateral cooperation, the German Federal Chancellor noted great interest in further strengthening the close ties established over the years and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, for the development of which all conditions have been created, primarily a favorable investment climate.

Focusing on the topic of the upcoming high–level meeting "Central Asia-Germany", which discussed the most important issues of the region's development, the interlocutors noted the availability of wide opportunities for building partnership in a multilateral format and the implementation of new promising joint projects.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz exchanged mutual good wishes, expressing confidence that the interstate dialogue based on mutual understanding and trust will continue to serve as a reliable guarantor of further expansion of traditional Turkmen-German relations.
