President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Turkmenistan today on an official visit.

At the International Airport of the capital, where the national flags of the two countries were hoisted on flagpoles and a guard of honour was lined up, the distinguished guest was warmly and cordially welcomed by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the aircraft ramp, children in national costumes presented traditional bread and salt and flowers to the head of the friendly state.

Here, in the air harbour, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev held a bilateral meeting, which was preceded by a ceremony of joint photographing against the background of the State Flags of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting they expressed confidence that the results of the current visit of the head of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan and high-level talks in Ashgabat will become an important event and will give a new impetus to the multifaceted partnership between the two countries with a long-term perspective.
