Prospects for expanding trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan were discussed in Baku at a meeting of the Turkmen delegation with President Ilham Aliyev and during a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation, Azerbaijani media reported.
On Tuesday, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Atdaev. At the meeting, issues of developing cooperation between countries in energy, transport, and logistics were discussed. An increase in trade turnover was noted and the importance of implementing new joint projects that would further expand trade cooperation was emphasized.
At a meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation, the prospects for expanding trade and economic relations between the countries were considered. Following the business meeting, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized: "We are confident that joint efforts will help strengthen our partnership in the areas of trade, energy, transport, agriculture and other areas."
