A solemn conference titled "The White Path of Arkadagly Serdar to the World – International Year of Peace and Trust" was held

On January 13, a solemn conference, "Arkadagly Serdaryň dünýä uzan ak ýoly – Halkara parahatçylyk we ynanyşmak ýyly", took place at the Palace of Mukams of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan to mark the proclamation of the motto for 2025 – "International Year of Peace and Trust."

The event was attended by members of the Government, representatives of the Mejlis, Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, ministries and agencies, public organizations, as well as academia, the creative intelligentsia, higher education institutions, and the media.

An exhibition of decorative and applied arts dedicated to the country's independence and neutrality, the current era of prosperity, the well-being of the Turkmen state, and the history of the Turkmen people was showcased in the foyer of the Palace of Mukams. The exhibited works attracted significant interest from the participants of the festivities.

The conference began with a song based on the poem of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, titled "Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust." This remarkable piece of poetry by Hero-Arkadag artistically conveys the principles of peace, neutrality, and fraternity of the independent Homeland, as well as initiatives aimed at global welfare.

In their speeches, the conference participants noted that the United Nations General Assembly had unanimously adopted the resolution declaring 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" upon Turkmenistan’s initiative, co-sponsored by 86 countries. This reflects the recognition of Turkmenistan's efforts to promote global peace and sustainable development.

On December 27, 2024, during an extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov declared 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust."

This decision was made following proposals from representatives of Halk Maslahaty, major public organizations, labor collectives, and citizens, inspired by the remarkable poem "Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust" authored by the National Leader of the Turkmen people. It also marks the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution initiated by Turkmenistan, proclaiming 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust."

The emblem of 2025 features a growing green poplar with strong roots and upward-reaching branches symbolizing the development of Turkmenistan, its independence and neutrality represented by flags, a soaring white Turkmen falcon, and olive branches as a symbol of peace. Special attention was drawn to the green and blue hues, reflecting independence and neutrality, respectively, inspired by the guidance of Hero-Arkadag.

Independent neutral Turkmenistan successfully pursues a peaceful foreign policy and promotes initiatives of global importance within international organizations.

Participants emphasized that the foreign policy initiated by Hero-Arkadag and continued under President Serdar Berdimuhamedov adheres to principles of equality, understanding, good neighborliness, and positive neutrality. Turkmenistan’s international initiatives for global peace and sustainable development are being actively implemented.

The conference highlighted upcoming events planned to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, coinciding with the "International Year of Peace and Trust."

Turkmenistan’s active participation in UN efforts to strengthen global peace, security, and cooperation was commended. The UN resolutions proposed by Turkmenistan, including "International Day of Neutrality," "The Role and Importance of Neutrality Policy in Maintaining International Peace," and "Central Asia – a Zone of Peace, Trust, and Cooperation," were cited as key milestones.

The festive conference concluded with artistic performances dedicated to Turkmenistan’s achievements. Musical and literary compositions, including the patriotic song "Uzak ýaşaň, Arkadagly Serdarymyz!" stirred inspiration among attendees.

Participants addressed a letter of gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his efforts toward the prosperity of the country and its increasing international prestige, expressing confidence that the "International Year of Peace and Trust" would bring new achievements and historic milestones.
