The autumn season of the nationwide tree planting campaign has started

On November 9, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the autumn season of the nationwide tree planting campaign started across the country.

In the era of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state, the environmental initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag are successfully implemented under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As the Head of state notes, the annual landscaping campaigns in our country greatly contributes to its transformation into a blooming oasis and increases the pride of Turkmen people for the unique nature of their Homeland.

Our people have created wonderful traditions, including living in harmony with the environment and taking care of it. Today, they are enriched with new content, which is clearly confirmed by the expansion of forest zones in the country, as well as regular landscaping campaigns.

Mass tree planting events contribute to the creation of new parks, the enrichment of the flora of the Turkmen land, and the provision of favorable climatic conditions. All this is an important condition for environmental safety and the preservation of the health of our people.

Action was attended by the Chairman of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads and representatives of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, as well as the public.

The car of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has arrived in the southern part of the capital, where a nationwide landscaping campaign is to start.

The participants of the ceremony warmly welcomed the head of state.

The performances of the country's masters of art gave a special flavor to the event.

Having warmly greeted the audience, Arkadagly Hero Serdar headed to the site prepared for planting.

A representative of the younger generation approached the President of Turkmenistan and, with inspired poetic lines, asked him to launch a landscaping campaign.

The participation of the head of state in this noble event, which took place throughout the country today, increased its significance, becoming a confirmation that national traditions, formed over the centuries by our wise ancestors, are developing in accordance with the spirit of modernity.

Following the example of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, all participants began planting seedlings of trees of various species selected taking into account the soil and climatic conditions of the area, which will create forest zones in areas at the foot of the mountains.

The implementation of effective activities to protect and enrich the diversity of the environment is the key to the prosperity of the Fatherland. Taking care of nature is one of the most important tasks of our time. Turkmenistan occupies a worthy place in the world community, promoting positive solutions to global environmental problems for the benefit of present and future generations of the Earth.

The implementation of a large-scale National Forest Program in our Homeland is an important contribution to global efforts to combat climate change.

Cooperation with the United Nations and other major international organizations in such an important area as climate change is one of the priorities of our country's foreign policy strategy, which plays an active role in solving important tasks facing humanity.

The initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan at various high-level forums have received broad support from the international community. A vivid example of this is the proposals to open in Ashgabat a Regional center for technologies related to climate change in Central Asia, to develop a UN Water Strategy, a UN Special Program for the Aral Sea Basin and to highlight the Aral problem in a separate area of UN activity, to preserve the environmental well–being of the Caspian Sea.

Turkmenistan's participation in the Global Methane Commitment is also a clear indication of its responsible approach to solving important challenges of our time. As you know, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov officially announced this decision at the 28th meeting of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) from November 30 to December 12, 2023. The Head of State stressed that Turkmenistan will continue to cooperate with international organizations and partner countries within the framework of projects and programs aimed at fulfilling the conditions arising from the commitments undertaken.

Our Motherland develops effective relations with prestigious international organizations, and the inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List within the framework of the multilateral dossier of the nomination "Turanian Deserts of the Temperate Zone", prepared through international cooperation, the State Nature Reserves "Bereketli Garagum", "Gaplañgyr", the biosphere reserve "Repetek" and the desert ecosystems of its reserve "Yerajy" it is another vivid confirmation of this.

During the event, a conversation took place between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and a number of Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Deputy Prime Minister T.Atakhalliyev, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, informed the head of state about the progress of the landscaping campaign throughout the country.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing the importance of improving the environmental situation through systematic tree planting, instructed to ensure constant monitoring of the implementation of environmental protection measures and the transformation of the Motherland into a blooming oasis.

Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B.Annamammedov reported on the improvement of Ashgabat, the cleaning of its territory and the progress of construction in the city.

Stressing the importance of further development of Ashgabat, cleanliness in the capital, high-quality and timely completion of construction works, Arkadagly Hero Serdar gave the Deputy Prime Minister a number of instructions.

The urban development program successfully implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also pays special attention to environmental issues. The expansion of park areas and the planting of trees enhance environmental well-being. Guided by the Program "Revival of a new era of a powerful state: The National Program of Socio-economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052", as well as the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028", large-scale work is currently underway to create favorable environmental conditions.

In recent years, the appearance of the Turkmen capital has changed beyond recognition. This is the result of the successful implementation of the urban planning policy conducted under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As in all corners of the Motherland, the boundaries of forest zones, including areas occupied by juniper, are expanding in the vicinity of Ashgabat. They reduce the concentration of carbon monoxide, trap dust from the air, and are a natural protection from the wind. In addition, the forest park zone formed on the territory of Ashgabat contributes to improving the climate.

The fact that our beautiful capital Ashgabat, the pearl of Asia, received a certificate for its contribution to the UN Economic Commission for Europe's "Trees in Cities" initiative is a clear evidence of our country's success in developing environmental diplomacy and appreciation of our people's efforts to protect nature.

The new "smart" city of Arkadag can be called a promising platform for piloting innovations not only in the economy and social sphere, but also in the field of environmental protection. As you know, the initiator of this megaproject is the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and its implementation continues through the efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The smart city, unique for the region, has all modern opportunities for a comfortable life and work, and most importantly, it fully meets environmental standards and harmoniously fits into the environment. Digital, advanced information and communication and "green" technologies are integrated into its life, and exclusively environmentally friendly materials were used in the construction of facilities.

The presentation to the city of Arkadag of a certificate of accession to the project "Development of sustainable, green, climate-friendly cities with innovative solutions in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe region" is a confirmation of the effectiveness of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the international community in the field of ecology.

Planting shady trees around cities and other settlements ensures a clean environment and prevents air pollution. In desert conditions, such plantings reliably protect settlements from hot and dusty winds, from mudflows and create a favorable microclimate, transforming the natural landscapes of the country.

The conscientious work of the participants of the current landscaping campaign is a vivid symbol of the indestructible unity and cohesion of our people, their unwavering loyalty to noble causes, testifying that the centuries–old traditions of their ancestors are being successfully implemented in the modern era.

In addition to planting new trees, work was carried out everywhere to take care of existing plantings. This is important for maintaining cleanliness and beautification of park and forest areas.

At the end of the event, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly said goodbye to the participants and left the venue.

In total, 539 thousand 185 trees of various species were planted in Turkmenistan during the current nationwide campaign. Also, in parks and forest areas, along with cleaning and landscaping, measures have been taken to take care of more than 2 million 67 thousand 630 trees that have already been planted earlier.
