On January 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system, during which a number of pressing issues of state importance were discussed.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Annamammedov reported on the Project "Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments for 2025."
It was noted that during the Revival of the new era of the powerful state, a new urban development policy is being successfully implemented in the country. Significant investments are being directed toward the construction of buildings and facilities of various purposes using advanced global technologies, creating all the necessary conditions for the development of the construction sector.
In accordance with the instructions of the President of the country, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, together with other ministries, agencies, and the administrations of the regions, as well as the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, have developed the draft "Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments for 2025."
Thus, this year, investments will be directed toward the implementation of state and regional projects, such as the development of the next phase of the "Galkynyş" gas field, the construction of the "Şatlyk-1" gas compressor station, the Serhetabat–Herat section of the gas pipeline, referred to as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly" and forming a crucial part of the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline, a combined-cycle power plant with a capacity of 1574 MW in the Balkan region, a new international airport in the town of Jebel, the international high-speed highway Ashgabat–Turkmenabat, and a bridge across the Garabogazgol Bay. Special attention will be paid to the implementation of one of the largest projects in the region—the second phase of the construction of the city of Arkadag.
Additionally, to improve the living conditions of the population, investments will be directed toward the construction of residential buildings, healthcare facilities, secondary schools, kindergartens, roads, water, gas, and energy supply systems, communication networks, and water treatment facilities.
In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister presented a corresponding proposal for the consideration of the head of state.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that during the International Year of Peace and Trust, urban development policy is being successfully implemented in the country, with significant investments being directed toward the construction of buildings and facilities of various purposes.
In this regard, the head of state instructed to closely monitor the construction of facilities outlined in the "Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan and Investments for 2025," ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
