On December 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan, Mr. Stanislav Chepurnoy, who presented his Letters of Credence to the Head of State.

Expressing appreciation for the time granted for the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Belarus, His Excellency Mr. Alexander Lukashenko, to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag. He reaffirmed Belarus’s commitment to the longstanding, friendly dialogue between the two states.

In return, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Belarus, Mr. Alexander Lukashenko, and congratulated Mr. Chepurnoy on his appointment to this significant diplomatic post. The President expressed confidence that, in the performance of his important duties, the Ambassador would make a meaningful contribution to the strengthening and expansion of the fruitful bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and wished him every success in his endeavors.

The meeting included a substantive exchange of views on the current state and future prospects of Turkmen-Belarusian relations, which are based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, trust, and constructive partnership. In this regard, both sides noted with satisfaction the active cooperation between the two countries, not only bilaterally but also within international and regional frameworks, including the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The importance of furthering intergovernmental humanitarian dialogue was also emphasized. Close cooperation in the fields of education, science, sports, culture, and the arts between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus continues to enhance the ties of friendship between the two nations and their peoples.

Once again expressing his sincere gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting and wishing the Ambassador success in fulfilling his important mission, the President of Turkmenistan assured Mr. Chepurnoy that he would continue to work towards the strengthening of traditional Turkmen-Belarusian relations and the development of mutually beneficial partnerships that serve the interests of both friendly nations.
