On October 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the digital system, on the agenda of which a number of priority issues of public life were put forward. The meeting was also attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag.

At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state gave the floor to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, first of all expressed gratitude to Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the opportunity to address the participants of the meeting.

Addressing the President of Turkmenistan and members of the Cabinet of Ministers, Hero-Arkadag noted with satisfaction that yesterday, October 24, on the 79th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, the head of state met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and congratulated him on this date, which was a great honor for all of us.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also noted that independent Turkmenistan, twice recognized as a neutral state, pursues a fair policy of "open doors". This is clearly evidenced by the speech of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the BRICS Summit, held in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation.

"As you noted, dear President, Central Asia, which is one of the strategic regions of the world, is developing intensively today," the Arkadag Hero stressed. The countries of the region cooperate constructively in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. A large-scale work has been carried out in our country to achieve the SDGs. Namely, a lot has been done in the field of economics, ecology, as well as entrepreneurship, promotion of scientific and intellectual initiatives. Work in this direction will continue in the future, said the Hero-Arkadag.

Assuring that, in turn, the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan will keep under unflagging control the steps taken in the context of the SDGs, the National Leader of the Turkmen people wished everyone great success in implementing these important measures.

In continuation of his speech, the Hero-Arkadag noted that a lot of work is currently being done in the Fatherland to develop the field of sports. Not only by participating in major sports tournaments, Turkmenistan has become a center for regional and world-class competitions.

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also noted that on September 6 of this year, at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution "United Nations Games" proposed by Turkmenistan was unanimously adopted. The support of this initiative by the UN member states and the co-authorship of 87 states is a very great honor for us, said Hero-Arkadag.

According to the decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS, this year Ashgabat was declared the "City of new sports opportunities of the Commonwealth". All this testifies to the high appreciation of the activities carried out in our independent state for the development of sports.

After the adoption of this resolution, which is of great importance, domestic athletes participated in many international competitions, where they won prizes. By raising the Flag of the independent neutral Motherland high, they have increased its sports authority, which testifies to the positive results of the sports policy implemented in Turkmenistan. In this regard, the Hero-Arkadag presented for consideration by the head of state the issue of organizing an award ceremony for athletes who won international competitions together with the relevant deputy prime ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also noted that various events and celebrations of national and international importance are held in our country, which is transforming year after year. In September, a high–level meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held, and recently the International Forum "The Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the basis of peace and development" was held, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Turkmen poet and thinker Mahtumkuly Fragi, which was highly appreciated by the world community.

The Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan has done a lot of organizational work on the preparation and holding of these events at a high level. In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen people addressed the President of Turkmenistan with a question about work leave from November 1, as in connection with the above, he did not go on work leave in August.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the great importance of the issues voiced by the Hero-Arkadag, in particular, the tasks to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in our country.

Noting that young athletes, by successfully competing at international competitions, increase the authority of the Motherland, the head of state stressed that all conditions will continue to be created for them.

The President of Turkmenistan also supported the issue of the National Leader of the Turkmen people taking a working leave from November 1 this year.

Expressing gratitude to the head of state for the opportunities provided, the Hero-Arkadag  wished everyone great success in their work for the further development of the country.
