The energy policy consistently implemented in our country is aimed at the comprehensive development of the oil and gas industry, one of the key sectors of the national economy, and its active integration into the international energy system. In this regard, today, December 14, the widely celebrated Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers holds great significance.
This professional holiday, established by a Presidential Decree of Turkmenistan on January 15, 2010, is celebrated annually in our country. As noted by the esteemed President, the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers has a historical and political connection with the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline. During the leadership of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on December 14, 2009, the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline was inaugurated, and Turkmen "blue fuel" began flowing eastward. This date, inscribed in golden letters in history, was also proclaimed the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers.
It is worth noting that our natural resources are a source of prosperity for our people. The large-scale investment projects being implemented in the oil and gas industry not only have economic significance but also play an important role in strengthening regional and global energy security. Therefore, Turkmenistan, with its rich reserves of hydrocarbon resources, aims to establish business relationships with leading oil and gas companies and reputable financial institutions, as well as significantly expand the routes for delivering energy resources. Special attention is given to creating a new energy security structure that meets modern conditions and requirements.
In this regard, it is appropriate to highlight the report presented at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting, held on December 6 in digital format, summarizing the results of work over eleven months of the current year. As noted, positive technical and economic indicators were achieved in oil and gas condensate production. In particular, the State Concern "Turkmennebit" fulfilled its plan by 102.3%. The plan for oil refining was completed by 102.9%, for gasoline production by 106.4%, and for natural gas exports by 100.2%. Success was also achieved in the production of diesel fuel, polypropylene, lubricants, liquefied gas, and the extraction of natural and associated gas.
As evident, significant attention in our Motherland is paid to implementing the activities outlined in the Program for Developing the Oil and Gas Industry, especially the comprehensive development of oil and gas fields and the continuation of efforts to increase oil and gas production. These results have been achieved thanks to the tireless efforts of workers in the oil and gas industry under the wise leadership of the esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
We sincerely congratulate the hardworking employees of the oil and gas and geology sectors on their professional holiday, which is widely celebrated in our country today!
